Track By Track Explanation
) For one thing, our lady peace is one of my favorite bands, and for another the line "life is waiting for you, its all messed up but we're all right, life is waiting for you, its all messed up but we'll survive" is just perfect to start this off with.
) A classic song, done amazingly by train. It's all about moving on and at this point, That’s a pretty big part of my life, hence its place here.
) Just one of my favorite classic rock songs. Also has something to do with Doug’s influence. "All I need now is a clear moonlit night... etc."
) Just a little respect.... after all the shit I've gone through with people misreading my motives for just about everything this had to be put on here.
) one of the greatest love songs ever. Also from a great movie, "say anything" also reminds me of the end of "rent" the whole theme of the beauty of the eyes. More importantly, this is part of the "Dave is a sappy sonofabitch" aspect of the CD
) Doug... that’s all I have to say. It's allllll cause of Doug. Great song, great scene.... that’s all. Fits under the hopeless romantic/sappy s.o.b. category
) Probably one of the best 16bit instrumentals ever :O) had to put my love of Squaresoft music in here. This is it.
) Ah yes.... first time I really listened to this song was walking home kinda late one night, and it was snowing out... beautiful snow and everything... wasn’t December, but the rest of the image fit perfectly. And plus the line "I'd give it all away, just to have some one to hold on to" fits with my current mental state (read that as Dave=cant get a decent date or g/f)
) This one is due to Dan walker. This was on his CD and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. Simple, but amazing at the same time. One of those songs you listen to when your depressed about anything cause it just fits so well.
) This describes basically my whole life before I met up with all the mookymen. I really didn’t have anything other then a small group of friends. Plus it’s a great song as well.
) Dashboard Confessional.... thanks to Tiff I know this song. Great stuff. Again, goes under the Dave being hopeless category. "I wanna give you, whatever you need, what is it you need, is it what I need? I wanna give you, whatever you need, what is it you need, is it within me?"
) Had to put a song from Silver Eclypse on here. I was listing to the CD trying to decide what one worked best. Then I heard this. "Maybe its time for a new life now, maybe its time to move on" and this fit well with me being up at college and basically starting totally anew up here.
) I go to extremes... well had to put Billy Joel on here somewhere :O) it really doesn’t need any more explanation than that does it? :O)
) Again, decided Harry Chapin had to be on here. And this is another hopeless romantic song. Probably my favorite by him actually.
) James Taylor. Again, he had to be on here somewhere... and this song became a lot more personal after Rob died. Actually I was going to a concert that Friday after and it was incredible to hear this live, especially since it meant so much to me right then.
) Same idea as the last song. However a much stranger story. I had about 10 songs on my computer playlist on shuffle while I was talking online. I get an IM from Dan walker, telling me about Rob... about 5 seconds later this song came on. As soon as I heard it I just broke down... I still don’t know how long it would have taken to finally get to me had that not happened... country music or not, this is one of the most meaningful songs to me.
) Another Doug influence. I’ve always love BNL but I had never heard this song till Doug’s CD. Amazing song. Just fits well with the end of the CD as well.
) Cant have a CD about life without some Sinatra :O) and I couldn’t think of a better way to end this. "The record show, I took the blows, and did it, my way" great philosophy. :O) Great way to end.
